A trucking company in Missouri contracted with us to integrate their Access database with Quickbooks. The client was using Quickbooks and doing a lot of painful duplicate data entry. We are experts in Quickbooks – Access integration. We can pull data using the QODBC utility, or we can sync tables in your custom Access application with Quickbooks. In this project, we implemented Quickbooks COM object API interactivity to push and pull information between Access and Quickbooks.
Dispatch lived in Access. Accounting lived in QuickBooks. The same customer names, invoices, and job details were typed twice every day. That was the pain that justified a 40-hour integration. When finance and operations use different systems, duplicate entry is usually the cost you feel first.
We used the QuickBooks COM API on this job because they needed data to move both ways — jobs and charges out of Access, payment status back in. QODBC works well when you mostly need to read QuickBooks for reports. COM fits when Access has to write into QuickBooks on a schedule or when someone clicks a button.
If your team swears by Access for daily work but QuickBooks is non-negotiable for the books, talk to us before hiring two separate fixes. We map which tables and fields must stay in sync and quote from there. Most integrations start with a short discovery call, not a blind hourly clock.
