Enable Macros In Microsoft Access 2010

Enabling macros in Microsoft Access 2010 allows you to run automated tasks and custom VBA code. Follow these steps to enable macros safely.

1. Click on File and select 'Access Options'.
2. On the left side of the window, select 'Trust Center'.
3. With the Access Options window open, click 'Trust Center Settings'.
4. In the Trust Center window, click on 'Macro Settings' on the left side.
5. Select the option 'Enable all macros (not recommended; potentially dangerous code can run)'.
6. Click 'OK'.
7. Click 'OK' again to confirm.
8. Note: A dialog box may appear instructing you to close the program and reopen it for the changes to take effect.
9. Click 'OK' and close Access.

Access 2010 will often tell you to close the program and reopen it after you change macro settings. Do that — a half-restarted session is a frequent reason the new setting does not stick.

Right-click the ACCDB, choose Properties, and look for an Unblock checkbox if Windows downloaded the file from email or a browser. That single checkbox has blocked many macro setups that looked correct in Trust Center.
